Today, AmCham Hong Kong launches a new, totally revamped version of our old e-Magazine. A few short years back, we took all our platforms digital and did away with print. Tech advancements helped the Chamber become more sustainable and cost-effective. However, something was missingโฆ
The thinking behind the new value-added online e-Magazine is to provide a forum for more substantive written discussion of issues of concern or interest to AmCham members and beyond.ย Chamber programs are well-known for relevancy, timeliness, and intellectual stimulation. However, since the decision to stop publishing the print version of the AmChamHK Magazine three years ago, we lost the ability to provide substantive thought leadership in written form or to have a record of the lively discussions in our programs.ย This new e-Magazine will try to remedy that.
Since taking over as President one year ago, I have witnessed outstanding moments in our event programming through China Insight, Onward HK, the Distinguished Speakers Series, Committee seminars, and Women of Influence, among many others. The Chamber is now abuzz within the walls of our new Hub in Central with two or three programs a week. But we want the ability to continue this kind of buzz online in a substantive way, beyond the current popular social media offerings.
In each bi-monthly e-Magazine issue, published online in the middle of the first month, I will write a message which touches on the current emphasis of the Chamber. There will be a CEO Interview; there may be member-submitted articles on issues of concern; there will be essays written by our well-experienced Editor Edith Terry or sourced from prestigious professional journals. There will also be a few summaries of notable past AmCham programs and events. Finally, readers will have the chance to glance at some Chamber event photos. Advertorials are also welcome. The new e-Magazine is designed to be substantive, informative, relevant, and breezy.
If you have any comments on how we can improve, or if you are interested in making a submissionโor advertorialโto this new value-added e-Magazine, please write to our editor Edith Terry at publications@amcham.org.hk. I wish you happy reading of this new addition to your Chamber experience!
